October 2023 NVC ([[Non-Violent Communication is a cheat code]]) has given me an amazing method to approach difficult relationship conversations. On the other side, I’ve always struggled approaching sales conversations, because they feel too pushy. So after a bit of research, I found a good model to approach sales/hiring conversations better: GROW. **Goals** **Reality** **Options** **Way** forward But instead of saying MY goals/reality/options etc first, I ask THEM their goals, their reality then options FIRST. Then, I tell them my GROW. And I conclude with how they can grow if we combine our GROW together 😄 **Questions for Goals** - Where would you like to be in ....? - What would you like to achieve? - What would you like to have happen that is not happening now? **Questions for Reality** The person should be able to assess their present situation, and give concrete examples of their performance to date. **Questions for options** - How could the situation change? - What could you do to change the situation? - What alternatives are there to that approach? - What approaches have you used in similar situations? Who might be able to help? Then when I have identified their objectives, what challenges they’re facing, and what options they have, switch to talking about my goals, reality, options and way forward: “chat with us”!
